Easter is supposed to be a Christian religious holiday celebrating zombies. How did it get so screwed up with mutant bunnies that deliver cheap plastic baskets filled with dyed eggs, artificial grass, and marshmallow birds? And seriously -- pastels?!
I really wouldn't mind so much if all the plastic crap (including the candy wrappers) didn't end up in landfills the day after.
I guess I'm guilty at Halloween. I don't buy the plastic crap, and I make my own costumes (and keep them). However, I do buy candy for the trick-or-treaters (though we totally forgot last year!!!). Maybe that should become a tradition.

Let's network!
Next year, I'm going to try doing up a Shrek Puss in Boots costume AND the Russian Blue Assassin Kitten from Cats and Dogs for myself and the wife.
Should be fun trying to find the proper faux fur!
Nifty Elemental costumes, artwork and photos!
You've got a ice-cool eye for art!

The cats will be a challenge! I wish you luck on finding the purrrfect fur!

You just need to pick up some cans of expanding spray insulation foam from your local hardware store or Walmart. You can spray one layer over body forms for the most part, let it cure overnight, carve and sand to your heart's content. I put plastic bags over my forms to make sure that the foam did not stick to them.
I used an electric carving knife and keyhole saws for the basic shaping and trimming. Ordinary spray paint works well with it.
It all makes for a pretty lightweight and warm costume with a R factor of 30. LOL
I've done a few animal costumes before. So the cats should not be stretch for me. The trick will be making them more realistic than my previous "fursuits".
