Paradise has proved to be full of challenges.  Of course, there is the cost, but we knew that going in (though not to the extent we're experiencing).  I had a migraine land me in the ER the 2nd week I was here.  I broke my arm on my birthday in December.  Still going to PT from that.  My husband had chest pains when he arrived, and he ended up having open heart surgery on April 4th! But the Spirit of Aloha is strong here.  Because of my troubles, people have opened their hearts, and helped out.  It is very touching.  I don't know if I would have met or gotten to know some of these people as well if I had been doing my daily grind. I moved to Paradise (Maui, HI) for work at the end of August.  I've not been very active on here because of all the events and activities and errands.  I look forward to getting settled and my husband coming so I can breathe a little.  Being so active/busy is not in my blood! I did my Quilled Baby Honu while here - my first artwork as a local. :) I'm planning to do other island-inspired art, too.  Maybe some photography - there's so much beauty here! Aloha

I just posted to my scrapbook some old digital art (vector and similar styles) that I did circa early 2000's.  There are some solo male nudes. I felt dirty marking "Adult Content" on them. I have other pieces (which I will not be posting) that I would mark "Adult Content" with no reservations were I to post them, but the ones in my scrapbook are not shocking or x-rated and are probably closer to figure studies. I wish an artist didn't have to feel that way.  It makes me sad.
